Meet the Team
Erica

Hello everyone and welcome! My name is Erica and I’m a rhinestone artist. I’ve blinged lots of different things, from dance costumes to gowns, but recently I’ve decided to focus on Varsity letterman jackets. I’m definitely not new to the cheer and dance world. I coached the varsity dance team at Bishop Alemany High School from 2005-2012, I was a song/Pom instructor for the United Spirit Association in 2010 and 2011, and for almost ten years, I owned a really successful dance studio named Royalty Dance Academy, in the city of San Fernando. Unfortunately the pandemic happened, and I went from 300 students to 30. Also in 2020 I got pregnant with my sweet son. It was then, that I decided it was best to close the studio, because I couldn’t imagine starting all over again, with a new baby.
Creating has always been a huge part of my life, whether it was choreographing or making things. Shortly after I had my baby, friend Gina asked if I could rhinestone her nieces letterman jacket. At first they just wanted the hood done, but then they asked for the all the patches to get covered in stones. I was a little nervous at first, because I didn’t want to ruin it, but it ended up coming out soooo beautiful. Since then I’ve slowly gotten more requests to bling jackets and hope I continue to grow. This has been a great creative outlet for me, all while being a stay at home mom.
Will I ever teach or coach again? I have no idea. For now I’m focusing on my beautiful baby boy, and I’m glad I can continue to create and make people sparkle, on and off the field, with my bling work! I hope you are having a sparkly day! Check out my FAQ section on my website and email me any other questions you may have.
From a young age, Tara knew she wanted to do something with art. In 2003, she went to FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) in LA for Visual Design, MUD (Makeup Designory) in 2008 for hair styling and beauty makeup, Cosmetology school, a bit of graphic design classes, and sign painting classes. Tara also worked on the Visual team for Macy’s and 15 years at Trader Joe’s as a Sign Artist where she got the most exposure to all types of art.
Tara loves doing sooo many different things, and that’s exactly why she’s gone completely freelance since last May 2023. She loves learning new things, making mistakes, and then learning from them – getting better and faster each time. Tara wants to expand her palette and challenge herself beyond expectations.
